a not so average take on a less-than-average life

Tonight on the Olympics...

Men's gymanstics...
I kind of want China to win. So many people will be so happy. It's really important to them.
And those poor guys, if they don't do well... I hope China wins. USA for the silver, especially
since they are such the underdogs, love the underdogs. But they should not be allowed
to speak on air, at least not the one who keeps shouting 'USA', because he is really cute
otherwise.

Swimming...
I love the Phelps, who doesn't. Watching him swim, it's a thing of beauty. Absolutely
stunning. I love to watch swimming (good thing since I was a pool lifeguard for many
years, Baywatch suit and all) but I have never seen anything like the Phelps.

It is kind of funny now though because I realized he looks a lot like this guy I used to have 'daliances with', I call him 'the boy'. And it makes me laugh. I do have to say 'the boy' was better looking but he did not have that godlike body. Oh no.

Just realized that I have revealed an awful lot of myself in this here post. Interesting. I should probably get going then.

Notes on the Olympics

So, I'm watching the Olympics. It's somewhat of a return for me. I haven't watched the Olympics in years. I was even in Australia during the 2000 games and I hid in the outback. But when I was a kid I loved the Olympics, my dream was to be a luger. Not just because it is one of the coolest sports in the world but because America really sucked at the luge when I was a kid and it was the one Olympic sport that most of the athletes didn't even start until they were over 18. I figured I had a shot. I was wrong. Still haven't luged yet, but I will, one day.

I figured that the Opening Ceremonies would be huge, seeing how it was being put on by China, a communist country (and we know they know how to put on a publicity show) as well as the country that invented fireworks. I was right. It was spectacular although I do feel that all of the elements could have been shortened by at least two-thirds. But that's just me.

Another delightful benefit of the opening ceremonies... the flag bearer from England. All I have to say is all you English boys that I have loved and lost... screw you, you have been replaced by my love of Mark Foster. Wow, is he a good-looking English boy (man). He's probably posh though. Well, he doesn't need to talk so that's fine.

So, really, I've been sucked in by the promise of seeing gorgeous attractive men. It's petty and immature and not very intelligent but I'm going to keep watching. Especially the swimmers.

Alright I need to go before this gets dirty.

Wow, I didn't realize that I hadn't garnished the world with my fabulous witicisms in over a month. Sorry.

Anyways, I occasionally watch the Girls Next Door, I mean who doesn't. But isn't it a little inappropriate for a woman in her mid-to-late 30's (i.e. Bridget) to have her entire bedroom decorated in hot pink.

Maybe a soft pink, maybe, but definitely not hot pink.

And the new Brita filter ads are brilliant. 'Drink responsibly' (i.e. don't drink bottled water). I love it. Conservation is just starting to make sense, isn't it. Even to the masses.
